who we are

The TailorCraft Difference

We understand that it can be scary, intimidating, or downright overwhelming to undertake a building project of any magnitude. That is why when you choose to take the construction journey with TailorCraft Builders, you are not simply hiring a company to complete your project, you are hiring a partner.  Our team is second to none: skilled craftsmen, experienced professionals, and vendors that have spent decades perfecting their skills and years earning our trust. You can rest assured, we will be with you through your entire journey.

We are not a faceless company that quickly moves your project down a production line. When a client hires TailorCraft Builders, they are hiring the actual builder. We are personally present at your project site overseeing every aspect of your home or remodeling project.  We will not take on more projects than we can personally manage.

At TailorCraft builders, we have your budget in mind as much as you do.  From structuring your project around your budget to helping you make selections within your budget, we constantly review your design choices to ensure that your vision is being followed while costs are being controlled and potential design-to-construction mistakes are being avoided.
We stand behind everything that we do.  Just as we are personally there throughout the building process, we are still there once the final nail has been driven, the paint has dried, and the furniture has been moved in.  Our commitment to service and home building excellence continues long after your new or transformed house has become your home.  Most importantly, we love the personal relationships we have with our clients!

Meet the Builders

Aaron Drummond

Aaron Drummond was raised in East Tennessee and Upstate New York, where he learned from an early age the meaning of character, hard work, and service to others. He discovered his passion for building as a child: from tree houses and smaller home projects, to learning the actual building trades as a teenager. He was raised with the philosophy that, “when you look someone in the eye, shake their hand, and tell them you are going to do something, then that is exactly what you do.” His passion for excellence and belief in service to the nation helped to earn him an appointment to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. While there, he honed his values of integrity, discipline, and attention to detail, and earned a commission in the United States Marines Corps. He later earned his MBA from Boston University. His core beliefs helped to form the foundation of TailorCraft Builders, and are reflected in how we conduct our business.
Aaron has been building and remodeling homes for ten years. Aaron and his wife Pamela live in Severna Park, MD with their four daughters. He feels truly blessed to have a wonderful family, live in a great community, and have a profession that he loves.

Rick Dyson

Rick Dyson was born and raised in Baltimore, and has spent his entire professional career in the home building industry. Starting as a simple laborer right out of high school, he has worked his way up through the ranks and held every operational position there is. Over his forty plus years in the business, Rick has personally constructed thousands of homes of all styles. For this reason, he has earned the affectionate nickname: “The Yoda of Home Building”!
Rick’s eye for detail and love of the business make him a huge asset to our clients. He not only knows how to build any type of project, he also is a very talented designer. He has personally designed many of the houses that we have built, to including his own. Rick lives with his wife Vicki in West River.

Giving Back

It is simply not enough to live and work in a community, it is essential that we become a part of that community. At TailorCraft Builders we do this by giving back. Given our strong connections to the military and our home building expertise, it is a natural fit for us to be a proud supporters of two organizations that are dedicated to helping those who have served all of us.

Prior to founding TailorCraft Builders, Aaron established a relationship with Homes for Our Troops, and built their very first project in the state of Maryland. We have worked with the Wounded Warriors Project to remodel and reconstruct a home for a severely wounded veteran and his family in Severna Park. Due to his injuries, the home had to be completely modified. We worked with the Veterans Administration, county, and local craftsmen to completely remodel their house to provide a family home that was both beautiful and functional.
